OTTAWA — The Grace Community Church is still working on a proposal to buy Hawthorne School from the Ottawa school district. School superintendent Dean Katt said the two sides are close to a deal for the old school. The church was one of two suitors for the school. ECKAN had also expressed interest but the school board gave the OK to the church to make an offer.
