A verdict has been reached in the murder of 19-year-old Sky Cadorette.

Mark Sherman was found guilty of reckless involuntary manslaughter and criminal possession of a firearm, which are both felony charges. Prosecuters were seeking second-degree muder charges, stemming from a July 10 incident when Sherman showed a semi-automatic pistol to guests at a party. At some point during the party the pistol discharged, shooting Cadorette in the mouth.

Sentencing is schedule for Monday, Jan. 5 at 1:20 p.m. Reckless involuntary manslaughter is a level-5 felony, which holds a sentence of up to 55 months in prison according to Kansas sentencing guidelines.
