OTTAWA – At the urging of Commissioner Ed Taylor, Franklin County commissioners ended night meetings this year. The commissioners met two nights each month during 2009. The night meetings posed problems for county department heads to attend and few people doing business with the county were willing to show up at night meetings, Taylor said. Commissioners ended the night meetings on a 4-1 vote, with Commissioner Don Hay dissenting. Commissioners also elected David Hood as commission chair at their annual reorganization meeting Monday. Outgoing chair Taylor was elected vice chair.
