OTTAWA — Two public hearings for the Ottawa Planning Commission in February represent do-overs. The planners will consider rezoning an area around the Elizabeth Layton Center’s Eisenhower Road clinic. The county plans to build a juvenile detention center in the area. The matter was continued because the state transferred a small area of right-of-way along I-35 to the county and neighbors had to be re-notified. A plan to rezone an area immediately to the north of the railroad bridge on U.S. 59 north of Ottawa was continued to February because of a technical error in the original proposal.
