WASHINGTON — The flooding in New England has wiped out many farmers’ vegetable and other crops. The record drought in Texas has severely damaged fall grain harvests and the cattle industry. says The rotten weather that’s affecting farmers and ranchers now but that it will affect the consumer pretty soon, which means higher prices for food, said Prairie View A&M economics professor Alfred Parks said. He said it will take farmers and ranchers a long time to recover.
