OTTAWA — A 33-year-old Ottawa man will do at least 25 years in prison for sexually molesting a child last year. Duane Francis Brannan was sentenced Monday in Franklin County District Court after he pled guilty to one count of aggravated criminal sodomy. The sentence, imposed by District Judge Thomas Sachse, is actually 25 years to life, with 25 years being the minimum with no chance of early release. Prior to the sentence, the victim, a 7-year-old girl, was allowed to make a statement on the stand. She simply addressed the defendant, and said what he had done made her very sad and also made her brother very sad.
