Recently, Miami County Commissioners turned down a request to Incorporate the new City of Golden. The fight to create the new City is not over. Jennifer Williams, who filed a Petition to Incorporate about nine square miles north of Hillsdale Lake, into a City to block the march of Intermodal warehouses to Miami County, says she will appeal the decision. It will be filed in Miami County District Court.
The original Petition presented in April had 287 signatures, collected in four days. She estimated with a little more time, the petition would have had over 300 signatures. Williams believes the vast majority of residents within the boundaries of the proposed City, support Incorporation of Golden.
