Honoring Veterans has always been a special occasion in Ottawa. This year is no exception. A two week long celebration of our Vets started lastweek. American flags line Main Street from 7th Street, all the way around City Park, with various displays honoring our Vets covering almost the entire park. Tomorrow, the big parade. Franklin County Commissioner, Roy Dunn:
City Park has displays of a “Field of Poppies”, information about every American War and Conflict since the Civil War. A Mobile Hospital, a Field of Crosses with the names of every Franklin County Vet that gave their life for our Freedom.
Forrest Park will be busy also, with battle reenactments and many more displays. Take the family to the parade and both parks. Fill you kids and grandkids in about how important our Veterans are and our Armed Forces are to keeping the freedoms they know.
