As Ottawa tries to draw companies in to build and expand their business in Proximity Park, the Ottawa School District is trying to help provide the work force to fill the jobs when they get here. Every year, students take what’s called a “Works Keys Assessment” that gives them an idea on what careers they might be interested in. Franklin County Development Council Director, Paul Bean, says the Works Keys does several things:
The lack of work force in the area has been a major reason some companies have given as a reason they don’t build here. The FCDC and are schools are trying to show students there are plenty of career options right here and you don’t have to leave to get a good job.
