Today is the day the Election results from last week become official. the Franklin county Canvass will be heldthis morning and the Franklin County Clerk, Janet Paddock, says the outcome of one local race and offices in many smaller cities will be decided:
The Canvass will count all mail ballots, absentee ballots and provisionary ballots as well as all the write-in votes cast for various candidates in smaller cities. Paddock says many candidates in smaller communities don’t register to be on the Official Ballot and rely on the write-in vote to gain their seat. One example of that is for the Mayor of Richmond, that had no candidate that filed, but a couple were asking for write in votes. The Canvass will be held this morning at 9:00 in the Old Court Room of the second floor of the Courthouse. The public is welcome to attend.
