For years, Ottawa Middle School has had a ceremony honoring veterans on Veteran’s Day. This year is not exception. Principal Charley Stoltenburg:
“Taking Chance” is a true story about Lieutenant Colonel Michael Strobel, played by Kevin Bacon, who is a volunteer Military Escort who accompanies the body of a 19 year old Marine, Chance Phelps, back to his home town in Wyoming. Traditionally OMS students, in honor of all Veterans, leave the assembly in total silence as they go back to their classrooms.
