We are nearing the peak of the Deer Rut, or mating season so, more and more deer are on the run. this means more crashed with vehicles. Most happen around sunrise or sunset. Kansas Highway Patrol Trooper, Ben Gardner says drivers need to be more cautions during those times:
The Highway Patrol says November 13th is the top day for responding to car vs deer accidents. they say if you hit a deer, the best thing to do is stay in your vehicle and call law enforcement.
In November alone, 26 car vs deer accidents have occurred, with 44 more in October.
