It took a while, but all the lots in an area known as The Coves, in northeast Ottawa, have been sold. The Ottawa City Commission, which also acts as a Land Bank, met in Land Bank Session, to consider several different scenarios,. Commissioner Eric Crowley finally made a motion to sell all the remaining lots to Joseph Whelan:
The Land Bank had considered requests from other buyers to buy individual lots, but decided to take advantage of the offer to buy all the remaining lots. The buyer will pay $11,000 per lot.
