A spirited discussion on the value of prayer at the start of Regular Franklin County Commission Meetings occupied a good portion of the Study Session Monday. Jarod Yancy, of the Local Ministerial Alliance, urged Commissioners to continue the tradition. Commission Chair, Colton Waymire, told Yancy sometimes he worries that prayers go off the rails a little:
All the County Commissioners appeared supportive, in general, of continuing with prayer. They agreed that efforts need to be stepped up to ensure there is a minister present for the prayer. Over the last several months, there were a number of times that the appointed pastor either couldn’t attend or had trouble with offering a prayer from home or some other location other than the County Commissioner Chambers.
