Last week’s windstorm knocked down a lot of trees, branches and limbs. Hopefully you were able to get out and clean up over the weekend. I heard a lot of chain saws around my neighborhood the past several days. The City of Ottawa is going to help people to get rid of them. The are having a brush and limb pick up starting today. City crews will make one complete pass through town. They say it may take some time since there were a lot of bigger trees down and those take more time to clean up. City officials have asked you stack the limbs parallel, or in the same direction as the curb, to make pickup easier.

You didn’t get a chance to clean up the yard this weekend? No worries… city crews will make another pass through town next week also. They do ask you not put any in the alley, as they can’t get trucks and equipment there safely.

You can always haul your own brush and limbs to the city drop off location on West Second, past Hope Cemetery, near Second Street dam. You’ll see the signs and brush there.
