You may have noticed the numerous Blessing Boxes that have popped up around Ottawa the last couple years. Ottawa has a surprising number of homeless and others that truly need the food that is in the boxes, to feed themselves and their families. Director of the Blessing Box Foundation in Ottawa, Julie Riggins, suggests donations of some items you might not think about; for instance pop top canned goods or can openers:
Blessing Box donations can be taken directly to the boxes or they can be dropped off at the Goat Milk Soap Store. Riggins says as colder weather moves in, they are also taking donations of blankets, gloves and scarves. Also, winter coats can be taken to the Ottawa Library. You can help those in need by making a donation today.
