The Franklin County Commission has decided to join a nationwide lawsuit against opioid manufacturers. The lawsuit is seeking billions of dollars as damages for the harm caused to hundreds of thousands of Americans. County Administrator Derek Brown, says any money received from the lawsuit could be used for several things:
Brown says joining the nationwide lawsuit means the County cannot sue the opioid manufacturers individually; but, Brown ways that’s something that would probably not happen anyway.
