Two injury accidents to tell you about. The first happened Christmas Day at 5:40 in the afternoon. A vehicle driven by 35year old Joseph Harris of Overland Park was attempting to turn left on to K-68 at Eisenhower Road. He turned in front of a vehicle driven by 34 year old Tasha Smith of Vassar. All the driver’s and passengers were seen by Franklin County EMS on scene and refused transport; however, Smith was taken by private vehicle to the hospital to be checked out further.
The second… a vehicle driven by an Ottawa juvenile was involved in a hit and run crash that resulted in a Baldwin woman being injured. The accident happened at 14th and Main. Yesterday afternoon at 2:00 a 14 year old boy was driving a Chevy SUV and struck a vehicle driven by 19 year old Ava Caylor of Ottawa, who then struck a van being driven by 23 year old Joni Smith of Baldwin. The juvenile fled the scene. Smith was transported to Advent Health Ottawa for treatment of injuries she received in the crash. The 14 year old was later located and cited for failure to stop at an accident, operation of a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and inattentive driving.
