The New Year will mark a new initiative by the Ottawa Police Department. Ottawa Police Chief Adam Weingartner says 2022 will mark the use of a Crisis Responder:
Weingartner says a Federal Grant will help pay for the new position. He also says he is visiting some neighboring cities and counties that have a civilian Crisis Responder, to get a better idea how such a responder is used.
