Food prices at the grocery store went up quite dramatically for some products this past year. For example, if you were buying bacon or other meat products, you paid nearly 20% more; but, on average, prices on groceries went up only about three and a half percent. So, heading into 2022, is the upward trend in prices going to continue? Probably, but not quite as much, says USDA Economist, Matt McLachlan:

This is the second year in a row prices have gone up more than normal. The blame can be placed on the pandemic, supply chain issues, increase in production costs and a number of other factors.
