A Court date to take up Miami County’s Motion to dismiss the proposed City of Golden’s Appel will be next month in Miami County District Court. A zoom hearing has been scheduled for Friday, January 14th at 3:00 in the afternoon. The County Commission voted 3-1 against Incorporation of the proposed city of Golden in October. The decision prompted two Golden supporters, Jennifer Williams and Charlie Koch, to appeal the County’s decision on November 12th in Miami County District Court. Williams filed a Petition April 9th to Incorporate about nine square miles north of Hillsdale Lake, into a city to stop intermodal warehouses from moving into Miami County.
Many different experts presented their views on a number of topics related to the incorporation, both for and against, over several months. The Commission voted to deny it. County Counselor Shelley Woodard filed a Motion to Dismiss the Plaintiffs’ Appeal on November 15th. Patterson filed a response o December 15th, asking the Court to deny the County’s motion to dismiss the appeal
