The Ottawa Police Department is encouraging everyone to extra caution on the roads this evening. They warn that the New Years period outranks most other holidays in the number of crashes in which at least one of the drivers is impaired in some way. These drivers not only endanger themselves, but also all the innocent, sober people on the road.
Sargent Casey Gilmore of the Ottawa Police Department says if you are going to be drinking any at all, don’t even consider driving. He added to not let your pride endanger the lives of innocent people. On average, across Kansas, three persons are injured every day and one person is killed every three days, in alcohol and other drug-related crashes. People in such crashes are over 2 1/2 times more likely to be injured or killed than those involved in crashers where alcohol or other drugs were not a factor.
You will live with the consequences of you decisions, good or bad, for the rest of your life.
