The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory that goes into effect a midnight tonight and continuing through midnight tomorrow, for Franklin, Anderson Douglas and Osage Counties; and from 3:00 tomorrow morning until midnight tomorrow for Miami and Linn Counties.
A mix of wintery precipitation is expected with total snow accumulations of one to four inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting to 35 MPH will mean very cold wind chills, as low as 12 below zero.
Miami and Linn Counties can expect two to four inches of snow and ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch. Plan on slippery road conditions and if you don’t have to travel … don’t.
Remember, wind chills at 12 below could cause frostbite in a little as 20 minutes. Dress appropriately if you have to be outside and again, if you don’t have to be out, don’t be.
