With the recent surge in the omicron variant of COVID 19, many people are wondering if society is going to have to learn to live with and end out taking a shot for it yearly, like many do for the flu. KOFO’s Gary Bateman asked Franklin County Health Officer, Dr. Bud Ransom, that question:
Ransom did say that there was no way for him to predict what’s going to happen as the situation with COVID is so fluid. He did urge people to get the vaccination available now to help ward off the virus. Just yesterday, the FDA approved emergency use of Pfizer’s COVID booster for younger teens, age 12 to 15. They also shortened the time between the second Pfizer dose and the booster shot to five months, down from six months.
