A Casey’s Convenience Store is proposed to be built at the corner of Baptiste Drive and Hedge Lane as part of the planned Paola Crossings Development. It’s the first official business to announce plans to locate at the new development.
Paola City Council members approved a preliminary Plat for the development, which will be on a 3.6 acre tract of land along Paola’s primary entryway across from Walmart and near the intersection of Baptiste Drive and Hedge Lane. That Plat shows several commercial tracts as well as a series of four-plex residential parcels included in the development. Paola City Officials are very pleased about the proposed new housing, many saying it was much needed as Paola, along with many other smaller cities, struggle with affordable housing options.
Casey’s Retail Company has applied for a Conditional-Use Permit to allow them to build at the location and the application will be reviewed by the Paola Planning Commission during a Public Hearing on Tuesday
