Evergy will build a 10-megawatt solar farm near its coal-fired power plant in Northeast Kansas City, the company has announced. They serve nearly 2 million customers in Kansas and Missouri. With more on the story, here’s Jim West:
The site will consist of 22,000 solar panels and begin operation this fall.
Evergy has pledged to be carbon neutral by 2045 and announced plans to stop burning coal at its Lawrence plant by mid 2024.
