In his monthly Mid-America Business Conditions Index Survey, Creighton University Economics Professor, Ernie Goss, says the overall index for December climbed from November and was very strong, which indicates positive growth for manufacturers. However, inflation, supply chain bottlenecks and labor shortages will lead to slower economic growth as we enter 2022.

In regard to short-term and long-term interest rates, Goss expects those to begin rising in the first half of 2022.
