The Kansas Legislature has started up for another session and one of the topics of conversation will be taxes. In her State of the State Address Tuesday, Governor Laura Kelly challenged the Legislature to send her a bipartisan bill to eliminate the grocery tax in Kansas by the end of the month. Representative and Speaker pro tem of the House, Blaine Finch, says it sounds good, but on the food tax:

Kelly says eliminating the tax would save Kansans up to $500 a year. Finch says lowering or ending the tax has bipartisan support, but lawmakers might consider alternatives, such as lowering the tax on all consumer goods.
