The controversy over whether teachers and students should have to wear masks has stirred a measure of controversy in the West Franklin School District, as is true with many other school districts. During the Regular West Franklin School Board Meeting, patron Wendy Kratzberg, who has a child in the second grade, told Board Members that she has been reading some medical journals on the long term use of masks:
The School Board discussed the Mask Policy, but made no changes. West Franklin High School has been especially hit hard by the COVID pandemic, with as much as 29% identified either as positive cases or having close contact with someone who was positive.
