Last week, a district wide mask-mandate went into place for USD 290 as the COVID positivity rate at all the schools went over the 3% threshold the School Board set in October. Those rates remain above 3% for all the schools as of yesterday, so the mask-mandate will remain in place throughout the district. Superintendent Dr. Ryan Cobbs, says the masking is a week-by-week policy. He says the process is building by building, not district wide, so there is an opportunity for some buildings to be under a mask-mandate while others were not, depending on their positivity rate.
