The biggest bicycle ride in the entire state of Kansas will be making an overnight stop in Ottawa this Summer. Biking Across Kansas announced the route for the 2022 ride as well as overnight towns. The ride begins June 11th at the Colorado border, west of Syracuse and includes overnight stays in Garden City, Spearville, St. John, Hutchinson, Hillsboro, Olpe and Ottawa. The ride will conclude at the Missouri border near Louisburg on June 18th. the overnight in Ottawa will be on June 17th.
Biking Across Kansas is an annual, eight day, bicycle tour across the state of Kansas that started in 1975 to promotes health and wellness through bicycling, the history and beauty of Kansas ad the warm hospitality of the Kansas towns and people. At the end of the day, the cyclists stay i small towns along the way.
Local High school gymnasiums and school grounds serve as a place for tired riders to shower, repair their bikes, eat and sleep. The event will bring hundreds of cyclists and their support personnel, to Ottawa. Look for more information about the Ottawa stay coming up soon.
