COVID cases hit an all time high in Franklin County last week at 844 and hopefully the trend is downward. The Franklin County Health Department did not release their normal update on Friday; however, did release a chart of where active cases were in the County, as of Wednesday. According to that chart, the active case count dropped to 486, with 309 of those being in Ottawa. Wellsville with 39, Pomona with 39, Richmond with 31, Princeton with 26 and scattered other cases throughout the County. Last week Communications Director, Kaci Brady, told Commissioners they expect numbers could be higher. She explains:
County Commissioner, Iann Dickenson, says she knew of one family where a person tested positive and reported it, then all the other family members tested positive, but did not report it.
