The Garnett Area chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet was held Thursday evening at the Knights of Columbus. The evening started with a very inspirational speech from guest speaker, Zeke Crozier, a medically retired Army Staff Sergeant, who’s business, “Handy Cappin’ ” has a vision to make possible one-of-a-kind and meaningful experiences to honor those who survive, thrive and overcome adversity; to honor those that have served in the military and those that have fallen, to support and encourage people with diverse abilities.
Following, the awards were given. Volunteer of the Year went to John Helms. Organization of the Year to the Anderson County Fair Board. The Business of the Year Award went to Garnett Home Center and Rental and finally, the Chamber Champion Award was presented to Auburn Pharmacy. The meal was catered by the Dutch Country Café and auctioneer Ben Yoder provided his skills in the yearly auction.
Congratulations to all the award winners and a big thank you to Zeke Crozier for sharing his incredible story.
