Railroad Depots served many purposes for a community. In fact, for many years it was the life blood of the town. Listeners at the Franklin County Historical Society’s Annual Meeting, were treated to a special talk by Railroad Historian, Bob Waltz. He says the depot was a place of business:
Waltz says the depot was also a window to the outside world for townspeople who otherwise would be cut off from neighboring communities. The Old Depot Museum has a display of pictures featuring the depots in Franklin County; more than 10 at one point in our history.
