The firm financial position of Franklin County is enabling it to do various projects without going into debt. County Administrator Derek Brown gave County Commissioners a list of accomplishments:
Brown says it’s all due to leveraging other sources to lower the property tax burden; but cautioned that with inflation rising sharply, the County may not always be able to pay cash for projects without raising the mill levy and taking other measures. He also noted that the levy has declined 5 mills over the last several years.
