This really does put pressure on commuters from Anderson County who, on average drive just over 26 minutes to work and over 20% travel 45 minutes or more. That figures to Anderson County workers spending over $70.00 a week on gas alone, $25.00 more than last year. Prices in surrounding counties reflect the same increase. $3.20 in Franklin and Linn, $3.19 in Barber, $3.22 in Coffey. The highest price for gas in the area is Osage County at $3.26 a gallon. Be ready to fork over a bit more in the future as the price slowly by surely inches toward the $4.00 mark.
