The City of Ottawa has enacted the Emergency Snow Removal Plan for the Downtown area. City crews have been out since midnight, pretreating some of the main streets in town. Utilities Director, Dennis Tharp, says traffic has been light today, which has helped them tremendously. He says the City is going to start removing snow from the downtown area this evening and they need the public’s help:
So please, if you are parked on Main Street, have your vehicles moved by 6:00 this evening. Tharp says Ottawa received at least eight inches today. They will be plowing all streets in town, eventually. He asks for patience as crews work around the clock to make it safe and accessible for everyone.
