The Kansas Legislature recently passed what’s known at APEX, short for Attracting Powerful Economic Expansion. Offering all kinds of incentives to a company willing to invest a least one billion dollars in the state. The bill received bipartisan support. Franklin County Development Council Director, Paul Bean, says a company that big would most likely be close to a metro area, like Kansas City or Wichita, and that could help our area:
He says if the company decided on the Kansas City area, other companies would follow and interest in Proximity Park would go up. Kansas was in the top 20 states for attracting industry the past two years.
