A few weeks ago, Franklin County Economic Development Council Director, Paul Bean, was approached by United Way, Hope House and ECKAN to see if there was anything local business and industry could do to help raise funds to provide temporary housing for the homeless in the cold weather. He sent out a memo and was floored with the response:
Hope House, ECKAN and the United Way have worked out a deal with some local hotels to offer a reduced rate for those needing shelter. They have provided over 120 nights at a cost of over $15,000 this year.
