A Baldwin city man who managed to elude police on a high speed chase through the city of Lawrence on December 29th, tried again yesterday morning to out run police, but this time they “got their man”. Douglas County Deputies took Tyrone Alexander into custody yesterday morning outside Linwood after a vehicle pursuit in Leavenworth County near the Douglas County line. After leaving County roads, deputies conducted a tactical vehicle intervention to disable the vehicle on Highway 32 near 235th Street.
Alexander was wanted on several outstanding warrants, including aggravated assault, felony fleeing and eluding and felony interference with law enforcement, theft, and criminal use of a financial card. This, after he led police on a high speed chase through busy streets in Lawrence after officers attempted to take him into custody in Southeast Lawrence the morning of December 29th. The Kansas Highway Patrol, Leavenworth County Sheriff and Eudora Police Department assisted in yesterday’s arrest.
