The Smithsonian Museum is coming to Ottawa; well, a part of it. A big announcement from the Franklin County Historical Association. Ottawa has been selected as one of only six cities in Kansas to host a very special traveling Smithsonian Institute Exhibition, called “Voices and Votes”. Historical Society Director, Diana Starcinic-Deane, says it looks at the history of Democracy in America:
She adds there will be a secondary exhibit from a Franklin County perspective, with stories, pictures and artifacts about voting rights and Democracy in our area.
The Smithsonian Exhibit is a way of– it’s scheduled to be at the Old Depot Museum in August of 2023.
