The Franklin County Emergency Medical Services is having trouble keeping enough paramedics and so it is looking for another way to keep ambulances fully staffed. EMS Chief, Christi Hilliker, told the County Commission, during a Study Session, that her department is no exception when it comes to staffing problems:
Hilliker says hiring what are called “Advanced EMT’s” might give the needed staffing, because the Advanced EMT position can take care of the vast majority of patients needing emergency care while they’re being taken to a hospital.
