A barn fire in Osage County has left several animals dead. Thursday afternoon, Osage county Sheriff’s Deputies, Osage County Fire District #3, Melvern and Osage County EMS responded to a call of a barn fire at 31821 S. Stubbs Road, in Quenemo. When first responders from Melvern Fire arrived on scene, they say the fire had consumed the barn to a degree that it had collapsed on itself.
Unfortunately, there were several animals in the barn that perished in the fire. According to Osage County Sheriff, Chris Wells, the cause of that fire is believed to have been a heat lamp that caught hay on fire in the barn.
Mutual Aid was received from Waverly and Williamsburg Fire Departments
