After discussing the issue over several meetings, the Ottawa City Commission has approved starting the process of officially terminating a 2008 agreement with the original developer of an area known as The Coves. That developer abandoned the project. Financial Consultant, Tyler Ellsworth, told the City Commission there were two major factors in voiding the original agreement, both benefitting the City:
The City Commission voted to start the process of terminating the agreement, which involves giving the old developer a 30 day notice to termination, which clears the way for all future development in the area.
