Yesterday was National Agriculture Day and at an event celebrating America’s farming families and the goods they share across the country. The event was on the Mall in Washington D. C.. Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, said that U. S. Agriculture is taking on new challenges, including climate change and rising production costs.
Those attending the event in Washington D. C. yesterday, had a good look at the latest in remarkable farm technology that was on display from the Association of Farm Equipment Manufacturers, including ethanol fueled semi trucks, an artificial intelligence sprayer that uses facial recognition to spray for weeds and a planting robot, along with a host of programmable seeders. Vilsak also promoted the Administration’s push for a sustainable farming future and commended those innovators on their quests to use technology to help farmers do more with less.
