The City of Ottawa is still receiving concerns and complaints from the public about the interpretation of new cemetery regulations and the removal of many items from grave sites. Acting Public Works Director, Dennis Tharp, says he wants people to understand, they are moving forward with some changes at the cemeteries:
Many people complained about items removed from head stones, that were permanently attached. Tharp says he is sitting down with staff and concerned citizens to make sure the regulations are interpreted the same by all parties.
