Crest High School is teaching its students the importance of developing businesses. Last week, business students competed in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge Series, in association with Network Kansas and E-Community Partnership. The goal of the competition was to expose Kansas middle and high school students to entrepreneurship. The competition consisted of students designing a business of their choice, then prepared a written business plan or Executive Summary, a “Tradeshow” booth and a four minute presentation about their business idea. The students’ work was judged by local entrepreneurs, local public partners and other adults. Halle Klotz won first place in the competition. Her project name was “Season’s Flower Shop” He idea was to own and run a flower shop and greenhouse. This small business will provide flowers for all types of occasions.
She will now compete in a Statewide Championship, where the top students from each local competition face off against each other for prize money and other honors.
The 2022 Statewide Championship will be held on April 28th at Kansas State University. Congratulations Halle.
