We have all heard city officials talk about adding properties to the Neighborhood Revitalization Program; but, do you know exactly what that is and what it does for property owners? any don’t. Basically, it issues a property tax rebate as an incentive to make improvements to property within certain areas of the city. City Manager, Richard Nienstedt explains:
Those taxing entities are the City, the County and the School District. It can be used on improvements to both the exterior and interior of a residence. The idea behind it is to promote Community improvement, development and rehabilitation so the safety, public health and welfare of the residents of the city can be enhanced. You can find more information on the City of Ottawa Website or give the a call and they will provide you with information on how to apply.
