A chance meeting with the Governor a couple of years ago, has now led to the Kansas Legislature and the Governor acting on a challenge. Governor Laura Kelly signed a Bill authorizing the construction of a permanent memorial honoring Kansas Gold Star families on Statehouse grounds. Steve Olinghouse has the story:
A Gold Star Family Memorial honors the families of servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives while serving in the military. That monument will be on the Veterans’ Walk at the Kansas Statehouse in Topeka.
