Cornerstone Bookstore owner, Bruce Beatty has announced the store will be open today and tomorrow during regular hours… 10:00 to 4:00 today. He says plans are to remain open next week as construction crews continue to repair the damage caused when a van went through the front window of the business on the afternoon of March 28th.
On that day a man in a van, was backing out of a parking stall across the street from the business. The driver, for reasons still unknown, crossed all four lanes of traffic on Main Street and crashed through the front window of Cornerstone, coming to rest fully inside the business, destroying a desk area and the counter where the register was sitting, took down shelving and merchandise, as well as bringing down some of the false ceiling overhead and rupturing a gas line. Fortunately the store was closed at the time, otherwise Beatty says, someone likely would have been injured.
Bruce and his wife Joyce are working hard to get the store back in shape and appreciate all the support they have received.
